How to record piano
This is the index page for my articles on how to record digital piano, electronic keyboard and acoustic piano on the computer.
How to record digital piano and keyboard
These articles explain how to record directly from the audio outputs of your digital piano or electronic keyboard. This is the easiest way to make an MP3 or WAV file of your playing, but also the least flexible.

How to record MIDI
Using MIDI you don’t record the audio output from your digital piano or electronic keyboard, but only a description of the notes that you played. Afterwards, you can convert this MIDI recording to MP3 or WAV.
The advantage of using MIDI is the small size of the files and the flexibility: you can tweak small mistakes before you commit the recording to audio.

Part 3: Recording with Red Dot Forever
Part 4: Playing your MIDI recordings
How to record acoustic piano
There is really only one way to capture the sound of an acoustic piano and that is to use microphones.
